The purpose of this article is to review the practical applications of CBCT and to update the general dental practitioners on the current status of CBCT. The review of recent publications reveals that CBCT is here to stay and play an integral role in diagnosis and treatment planning for many dental disciplines. Article also advocates more professional education and training on CBCT. However, nothing should keep clinicians from continuing sound practices with appropriate aid of this extraordinary imaging technology.
