CBCT and Risk Management

As with any emerging technology, law has not kept pace with CBCT science. The most obvious risks of using CBCT are missed diagnosis, violation of federal and state antikickback laws, and increased radiation exposure. It will take time to make new laws and illuminate those risks. However, having the data read by a qualified radiologist is the single most important thing a doctor can do to minimize risk when it comes to ordering a CBCT data set.
