CBCT And Root Resorption


External root resorption is an undesirable and unpredictable side effect of orthodontic treatment. It is important to accurately detect mild to moderate root resorption in the early stages of orthodontic treatment in order to prevent more severe resorption in patients who are susceptible to it. The article concludes that high-resolution CBCT scans are more accurate than other methods in quantifying both lateral and external apical root resorption defects.
